Barcode Scanning
I have printed a Code 128 barcode but my scanner won't read it.Given that the print quality and resolution (200 dpi or higher) are ok, with Code 128 or Code 128 GS1 most scanners will expect a checksum with the barcode. If the code will not scan you may have printed it without a checksum.
Another option is that the scanner has been set to expect a minimum length of data, e.g. eight characters. If you encode less then eight characters, the code will not scan.
Right-click and "Save as..." the barcode below to download a high quality 300 dpi Code 128 sample with proper checksum. You can print it out and thus verify the settings of your scanner:
